Unable to sign Nikolai Zherdev before training camp, the Blue Jakcets turned to Nason Carter yesterday, prompting specualtion that Zherdev will not be with the club this season. Speculation that the montreal Canadian are interested in this speedy gilfted winger.

Rookies such at Guillame Landresse, Sergei kottitsyn, Grabovski, Carey price, all futur stars for the montreal canadian are heating up this week! Fighting for a position on the team! i personnaly think, that Latandresse is ready for the team. He is a powerforward and the team needs someone like him!

Rumors: Zherdev negotiations heating up

The Blue Jackets and restricted free agent Nikolai Zherdev stepped up contract negotiations this week, reports the Columbus Dispatch. Blue Jackets GM Doug MacLean told the paper the team made three offers: $1.25 million for one-year, $3.9 million for two-years and $6.6 million for three-years. According to the Dispatch, Zherdev’s primary agent, Rolland Hedges, countered Thursday night: $2.75 million for one-year, $5.75 million for two-years and $9 million for three-years.

Flyer’s Primeau to retire on thursday

Primeau, 34, will retire Thursday after failing to receive clearance to play because of lingering effects of a concussion. Nearly 11 months after he suffered the brutal blow that cost him most of last season, Primeau has accepted the bleak reality that his career is over.
